We are on our way to Vermont to spend a weekend with my family, and I printed out our boarding passes earlier today, and the web page asked me if I wanted to change my seat assignment.
There were two choices that looked better, though one pair of seats was all the way in the front, which sometimes means there isn't any leg room.
While searching for our plane, an Embraer 145 Regional Jet, I came across seatguru.com (now retired, replaced by seatrecon.com, though the Embraer Regional Jets are also obsolete) that shows the plane, and comments on different seats.
As you can see the seats in row 3 are marked as "be aware", but the comment listed is that the seats are a little narrower due to having the food tray built into the seat, but that there is more leg room than an average seat.
So, I picked those seats -- we will see how it works. I hadn't realized how small a plane we are traveling on. We don't have any stops, but Heather does worse on the smaller planes.
