I was in need of a break from sightseeing and catching trams and we were out of clean clothes. Jon started a wash as soon as we got up. I asked him about his eye and he said it felt fine. Praise God!
We hung around, took naps, read, and checked on laundry. The washer takes two hours and the dryer takes two hours. If you do it right. If there is a problem, like not emptying the condensate water container, or having pieces of kleenex block the lint catcher and hinder air flow, then it takes much much longer. We did three loads and it took all day and into the next day.
When Jon got out the computer to check Lime Daley things, he discovered that half the power cord was still at Janet and Stephan's place.
So we offered to bring dinner over. We stopped at a convenience store (Coop Pronto) on the way to buy ingredients for raclette and then walked the rest of the way. Diana joined us and we had a yummy and nice evening. Janet was on the mend from her sickness and was looking good.
Raclette is a type of cheese (I will no longer be able to refer to a kind of cheese simply as "swiss") that is delicious melted over vegetables. Potatoes are the base of the meal, with tomatoes, pickles (those great Swiss pickles Jonathan likes best!) and pickled onions. You can put other vegetables but we hadn't bought any because the convenience store was not a full grocery store. The raclette grill is a heating element with room to put mini frying pans inside. A slice of cheese is placed in the pan, melted until bubbly, and poured over the potatoes. Mmm!
After that lovely evening, we walked back to the tram stop and rode home, power cord in hand (or bag, really.)
